Disinfectant Technology

Water disinfection or hygienic water security is absolutely essential part of the technological process of water treatment. This final step includes disabling and kiling of all pathogenic germs as bacteria and viruses and also securing the preventive germicide environment in drinking water. Wide range of chemical and physical methods is used for the water disinfection, among which belongs the use of chlorine-based or non-chlorine reagents as an additives.

The most frequent method of the drinking water disinfection is the water chlorination. Among the other known options for securing the hygienic standards of the drinking water belongs the non-chlorine method using the ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
